The Spray Gun We Built Because Nothing Else Did the Job Right

After years of spraying with guns that cost too much, performed too little, or demanded more air than any shop compressor could sustain — we designed the Apex ourselves. This is what we actually use.

  • 🎯 Two air caps, two jobs done right — The Flow cap handles primers, basecoats, and clears. The optional Control cap ($43.99, ships immediately) is engineered specifically for metallics and UHS clear coats
  • 💨 Runs on most compressors — Designed for real shop setups, not ideal lab conditions
  • 📐 310mm fan, 1.3mm tip — Wide, even coverage dialed in for primers, basecoats, and clears without tip swapping
  • 🔧 Built to be used — Minimal maintenance and cleaning required between jobs
  • 🏭 Designed and manufactured by Spray Work — Not sourced from a catalog. We spray with this gun.

Pre-Sale — $279.99 · Ships May 25–29, 2026
🛡️ 30-Day Full Refund Guarantee · 2-Year Warranty · Cancel Anytime Before Shipment

Before You Order — Here's Exactly What to Expect

When am I charged?
At the time of order — that's how we keep the pre-sale price below launch pricing.

When does it ship?
May 25–29, 2026. If that date changes for any reason, you'll hear from us before it happens — not after.

Can I cancel?
Yes. Contact us any time before your order ships and we'll refund you in full. No restocking fee. No questions.

What if I don't like it when it arrives?
You have 30 days from delivery to return it. We cover return shipping on defective units. For preference returns, you cover shipping — we'll send you a prepaid label and deduct the cost from your refund.

Is there a warranty?
Yes. The Apex carries a 2-year manufacturer warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. If it fails under normal use, we fix it or replace it.

Most Spray Guns Fail You in One of Three Ways

They can't atomize properly. They can only perform one job. They're inconsistent.

The Apex was designed to solve all three. Not by adding complexity — by removing it.

How the Apex Actually Works

The core of the gun is our Xtra-Reduced Pressure air cap — the component we spent the most time developing.

Standard HVLP guns push high air volume at the cap to atomize paint. That works, but it demands a lot from your compressor and creates turbulence that can disturb metallic flake and cause dry spray at the edges of your fan.

Our air cap reduces pressure at the point of atomization while maintaining fluid velocity. The result: paint breaks into finer particles using less air — which means a smoother finish, less overspray, and a compressor that isn't maxed out after every trigger pull.

The specs, translated:

  • 1.3mm nozzle — Sized for real-world use. Primers, basecoats, single-stage urethanes, and clears all flow correctly. Not too large (runs), not too small (tip clogs)
  • 310mm fan pattern — Wide enough to cover a door panel in 4–5 passes. Consistent edge-to-edge, not hot in the center
  • 295 l/min air consumption — Efficient enough to run on a 30-gallon compressor without constant cycling

Two Caps. One Gun.

The Apex ships with the Flow cap — our all-purpose air cap dialed in for primers, basecoats, single-stage urethanes, and standard clears.

For painters working with metallic basecoats or UHS clear coats, we offer the optional Control cap — $43.99. Its tight center orifice creates sharp initial atomization, keeping metallic flake orientation uniform and properly breaking up high-viscosity UHS formulas. Ships immediately — arrives before your gun.

What to Expect on Your First Spray

We're not going to tell you this gun makes you a professional overnight. Spraying well takes practice — any brand that tells you otherwise is selling you something.

First coat: The fan pattern is more even than you're used to. Less feathering at the edges. Less dry spray in the center. You'll notice it immediately.

Second coat: The gun responds predictably — adjust one thing, get one result.

After your first full job: You'll have a finish standard you can repeat. That's what a well-built gun gives you — not magic, but consistency.

If it doesn't perform the way we're describing, you have 30 days to send it back. No performance means no charge.

Is the Apex Right for You?

✅ You're the right customer if:

  • You want professional results without a $500–$800 gun investment
  • You have a 30-gallon or larger shop compressor
  • You're tired of cheap guns that can't atomize and expensive guns that are overkill
  • You spray metallics or UHS clears and want a dedicated cap that handles both correctly

What Ships With Your Apex

  • ✅ Apex Spray Gun body with Flow (Xtra-Reduced Pressure) air cap installed
  • ✅ 1.3mm fluid nozzle and needle (pre-installed)
  • ✅ Gravity-feed cup with lid
  • ✅ Wrench for nozzle and needle removal
  • ✅ Cleaning brush set
  • ✅ Parts list

Not included: Air compressor, air hose, inline moisture trap (strongly recommended), paint or thinner.

👉 Spray metallics or UHS clears? Add the Control Cap — $43.99. Ships immediately — before your gun arrives.

Will Your Compressor Work?

Short answer: If it's 30 gallons or larger from any major brand — DeWalt, Ingersoll Rand, California Air Tools, Craftsman, Husky — you're almost certainly compatible.

The technical requirement: 9.5 CFM at 40 PSI.

What that means in plain English: If your compressor can run an air sander or DA polisher without constantly cycling off, it can run the Apex.

To confirm: Find the sticker on your compressor tank. Look for the CFM rating at 40 PSI. If it's 9.5 CFM or higher, you're good.

Still unsure? Send us your compressor model before ordering. We'll tell you straight — even if the answer is "don't buy this gun for that compressor."

Common Questions

Will this work with my compressor?
If it's 30 gallons or larger, almost certainly yes. Minimum: 9.5 CFM at 40 PSI. Pancake and 6-gallon portables won't work. Message us your model if you're unsure — we'll confirm before you order.

I've never used a spray gun. Is this too advanced?
No. The three adjustment knobs — fluid, fan, air — are clearly labeled and respond predictably. Most first-time users are spraying confidently within 30 minutes. Plan for a test panel before your real job. The manual includes a viscosity chart so you're not guessing on thinning ratios.

How does it perform on clear coat vs. metallic basecoat?
The 1.3mm Flow cap handles both well. For metallics and UHS clears, the optional Control cap ($43.99) is purpose-built for those materials — tight center orifice, sharper atomization, predictable fan pattern.

How long does cleanup take?
5–10 minutes if you do it immediately after spraying. Rinse the cup, spray solvent through until clear, soak the nozzle and air cap for 5 minutes, brush, blow dry. The Apex's passages are designed to be accessible — no blind channels that trap dried paint.

What's the warranty?
2 years against manufacturing defects. If it fails under normal use within that window, we repair or replace it. The 30-day return window is separate — that's your satisfaction guarantee.

What if the May 25–29 ship date changes?
You'll hear from us before it happens, not after. If the delay is significant and you want to cancel, we'll refund you in full — no questions.
